In only a decade, producer, financier, and studio head Ryan Kavanaugh has changed the way many in Hollywood do business. When Ryan Kavanaugh started Relativity Management in 2002 to represent A-list clients such as producer/director Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney’s Section 8 Productions, he paid particular attention to the financing end of the industry from the perspective of his background in venture capitalism. By 2004, he had become a principal in Relativity Media, most notably working on an award-winning financing structure for Marvel Entertainment, which led to the Iron Man franchise.

Recognized as a film finance expert, Ryan Kavanaugh has introduced in excess of 0 billion into production companies and studios through financial structures. Relativity Media has produced, distributed, and/or structure financed more than 200 films, garnering 60 Academy Award nominations. Ryan Kavanaugh’s credits as producer include Mirror Mirror, with Julia Roberts; Limitless, with Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro; and The Fighter, starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale. The Relativity Media head also served as Executive Producer of The Social Network.

Since its inception, Relativity Media has grown to include sports management, music soundtrack supervision, digital media, and television production and distribution. Ryan Kavanaugh continues to play a key role in forging strategic new partnerships, such as an agreement with Huaxia Film Distribution Co. Ltd. in China that became the first strategic alliance with a firm sponsored by the Chinese government. He also facilitated a groundbreaking arrangement with Netflix, Inc., for pay TV and the acquisition of Overture Films and its marketing and distribution functions. For his leadership and contributions in the entertainment industry, Ryan Kavanaugh has earned numerous accolades, including recognition on Fortune magazine’s list of the 40 Under 40 Most Influential People in Business.
